The Memorandum of Agreement signing ceremony between MTU and Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (Thailand)

On April 23rd 2018, Mien Tay Construction University signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (Thailand) to promote academic and educational collaboration and exchange between the two universities, with the joint purposes of improving mutual understanding between the two universities as well as between Thailand and Vietnam, and of contributing to the advancement of academic and educational activities in areas of mutual interest.

On the side of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, attending the signing ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Charoon Charoennetkul, Assoc. Prof. Manus Anusiri, Asst. Prof. Jeerasak Peanjaroen, Asst. Prof. Panu Promputthangkoon, Ms. Wilawan Tongnimit, Ms. Jirawan Jitwijarn. From MTU, attending the ceremony were Dr. Nguyen Van Chieu – Vice Rector, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam Dan – Head of Architecture Department, Architecture Faculty, Mr.Thach Som So Hoach – Vice Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty, Mr. Huynh Quoc Huy – Head of Office of Training Management, Dr. Vu Duy Thang – Head of Structural Engineering Department, Civil Engineering Faculty, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan – Lecturer, and Ms. Lich – Staff of Office of Scientific Research and International Cooperation. Coming to the ceremony, there were two representatives of Can Tho University.

At the ceremony, the MoA would offer multiple opportunities for joint academic and scientific research activities, which are top priorities of the two universities in areas of exchanging lecturers and students, organizing symposiums, conferences, and exchanging academic and research findings, etc.

The two universities also discussed and signed the memorandum for exchange of students, which was defined that each university would send to and accept from another not more than five students per academic year. The number of students would be fixed by annual consultation between the two universities. 

Representatives of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya suggested that it would be have the biennial conference among MTU, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Can Tho University and Tra Vinh University.

The signing ceremony was a success with more collaborative plans aimed at fostering academic ties between two universities in the near future.
